SCROLL DOWN TO FIND OUT HOW YOU CAN WIN A $100 GIFT CERTIFICATE FROM CAMPUSQUILT.COM
My daughter kept a lot of things for a long time when she was growing up. Sheet music from songs she sang in show choir, book reports, ribbons, trophies…you name it, Katie saved it. When she left for college, I was finally able to give her room a long-overdo makeover. I jammed all of her stuff on the new shelves and in the cabinets, and each time she would return home for a visit she would toss a few more items – a packet of ninth grade English class work (sorry, Dr. Coriaty!), a pile of MYART scripts (a great children’s theater program), a bunch of paperbacks from middle school.
One of the things she kept, high up on a shelf in her closet, was her t-shirts. A lot of them. They represent the history of her life. This is where Campus Quilt came in. Campusquilt.com can be seen in Real Simple magazine.
If you have kids, you know what I’m talking about. From pre-school on, there’s a t-shirt for every.single.activity. Every one. Camp, school, sports teams (go Packers! go USC!), family vacations, little league, school clubs…need I go on? Some kids outgrow their shirts and never look back, tossing them when they’re too small or not important anymore. Not Katie. She kept a lot of them, including every softball jersey she ever wore and every MYART show she was ever in.
When she came home from college, Katie had amassed a collection of t-shirts from her school and her sorority that was, to put it mildly, out of control. It seems that every sorority event has it’s own special t-shirt, along with sweatshirts, hats, mugs, shot glasses (of course) and more. Katie knew something had to be done about all of this paraphernalia, and so did I, so we found Campusquilt.com.. The process for ordering the quilt was simple…choosing the t-shirts was not. Katie arranged and rearranged the shirts a few times, just to make sure the quilt would look perfect.
Today Katie’s Campus Quilt arrived – and it’s beautiful. The company did a great job of communicating with us about colors, quilting, backing, and more. When there were questions, they quickly responded. We chose to do the 20 square tv watching quilt with sashing, but there are other sizes available as well. I am thrilled with Katie’s quilt, and she is too.
I’m excited to be able to offer my readers the opportunity to win a $100 gift certificate to Campus Quilts. Just leave me a comment! The winner will be chosen on Monday, July 16, 2012.

Would love to win this to create a beautiful keepsake!
Great idea!
What an absolutely great idea. I am already thinking of what tee shirts and where they are. Love it!!!!
My daughter has been looking for a way to do this with her tee shirts!! Great idea thanks for passing on this idea.
My daughter is 5 and this is exactly why I began saving each one of her t-shirts from the very beginning. I’ve saved them with hopes that one day this will be the comforter she takes away with her to college.

I love this idea. Since my daughters have already graduated from college, I do have another chance with my granddaughter. With her tiny size, I’m thinking of doing a nine square block of her baby onesies and tees. Thanks.

I would love to be able to do this with some of the many t-shirt we have around the house. I have made some of the plain ones into dresses for my daughter, but a quilt for the others would be a cool way to use them.
